MY ROLE:
Over at KCF, the marketing team may be small, but it is incredibly effective.  I joined a close-knit group of four, where I was one of just two Graphic Designers.
This internship was fully remote (aside from our orientation), which pushed me to sharpen my time management and focus while working. Weekly meetings with my team ensured we all stayed on track, were hitting our goals and refining our work. Receiving feedback from people in multiple fields deepened my understanding of design’s broader impact.
In the end, this experience not only made me a stronger designer but also expanded my ability to create within a field that is not typically seen as creative.
Project 1 - Asset Case Study LAYOUT
Where we started
THE PURPOSE:
- Asset Case Studies build trust between KCF and their client/s.
- KCF works with large machinery from a number of different industries, we want clients to know that we can and have handled issues with almost every machine.

DESIGN OBJECTIVES:
It was clear that a new layout was needed, our goals were to:
- Improve Legibility
- Improve Digestibility
- Incorporate Negative Space
- Improve Image Quality

Our Results
OVER THE COURSE OF MY INTERNSHIP, I CREATED 27 NEW AND IMPROVED CASE STUDIES, ALL WITH:
Less Wordiness:
I read through each case study and condensed the information to only the essentials.
Attention Grabbers:
Let's face it, many of our clients come to KCF to not only save their workers, but to save money.
The graphic on the right bottom corner gets straight to the point, and tells the client the numbers they want to know.
High Quality Imagery:
Before, KCF resorted to low resolution images taken from employee's phones.
I decided that if a quality image wasn't possible, to instead use an image that shows KCF working hard to catch machine failures before they happen.
Room for Curiosity:
Rather than have tons of information slapped onto the document, I intentionally left out some information a client may be wondering about in the case study.
Why? Asking questions allows our sales team to do what they do best, sell! Which is the reason we present these to potential clients at all.
I made sure each design choice worked for and not against our goal, making a sale.
Project 2 - Social Media
The Purpose:
The purpose of this project was to highlight the successes of all of KCF's 2024 Interns.
DESIGN OBJECTIVES:
- Increase student's interest to apply to next year's summer internship.
Project 3 - why kcf PRESENTATION REDESIGN
Where we started
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to privacy reasons, I am not authorized by KCF to share the information used in the presentation. Lorem Ipsum will be used instead to share design choices.*
Any information that is included, has already been made public by kcf.
The Purpose:
The "Why KCF" presentation is used to introduce potential clients to KCF and encourage them to buy the products for their company.
DESIGN OBJECTIVES:
- Make sure viewers can easily understand the content.
- Make the content easy to read quickly, so they can still listen to the sales team's pitch.
- Highlight KCF's impacts.
OUR RESULTS
OVER THE COURSE OF MY INTERNSHIP, I CREATED 23 NEW AND IMPROVED Presentation slides, ALL WITH:
Bolder Text and Images:
Changing our previous light background to a sleeker, more professional dark background, helped all of the text and images shine. Creating a more eye-catching look
Less Overwhelming Information:
Similar to the asset case studies, I wanted to allow potential clients to be able to ask questions to the sales team.
Some clients keep this presentation to refer to if needed. So, I had to decide what was necessary information and what could be left out.
Eye Catching Graphics:
I felt that it was important for the numbers to have a bolder look and for  the statistics graphic to be more intriguing and different than a classic pie chart.
Color Usage:
While still maintaining a professional look, I used KCF's brighter colors, yellow and light blue, to highlight and accentuate the information
Created Using Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and Microsoft Powerpoint
